I’m a filmmaker, artist, designer and technical creative. As a generalist, I approach every project with curiosity, precision, and a drive to create meaningful experiences. I thrive at the intersection of art and technical problem solving, where imagination becomes tangible and stories come to life.

FILMMAKING

I am a filmmaker with experience in Writing, Directing and Cinematography, bringing a holistic understanding of the creative process in visual storytelling from concept to screen.

VIRTUAL PRODUCTION

I am competent in the use of Live renderer engines, and developing my technical practices for virtual production projects, with experience as a Virtual Environment Artist.

ANIMATION / CGI

I am skilled in various 3D modelling, texturing and animation software, with a deep understanding of computer generated imagery and the animation pipeline.

POST-PRODUCTION / VFX

As a technical creative, I am competent in the post-production pipeline, and explore ways of creating believable and engaging visual effects for Film and Television.

MY STORY

My name is Elliott Hawkins and I am an Australian filmmaker who grew up along the far-north coast of New South Wales. Since I was young, films were always a big part of my life. Storytelling was how my family bonded. I was inspired to be curious about the world. To have a sense of wonder and awe in life.

Throughout adolescence, I loved being in my imagination, and was fascinated by how things worked. I would craft stories with friends and make films, to see if I could make something exciting. My curiosity lead me to be drawn to sciences, especially Physics, and I loved learning about what was possible and just as equally, the impossible. I loved a good magic trick, and was inspired by the works of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas as they instilled curiosity, hope, wonder and awe in their stories.

I began studying a Bachelor of Engineering for a limited time when I left High School, until I migrated my tertiary journey into Film and Animation, Studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Majoring in Film Screen and New Media, with a Minor in Computer Generated Imagery.

MY PHILOSOPHY

My interest in science and passion for storytelling I believe is deeply rooted in the search for meaning in all things. I believe great meaning comes from the connection we have with others and the ability to create together.

Given the chance to have experience as a creative leader, a positive community is the highest priority for me as a creative, leading with kindness, togetherness and camaraderie. I believe a supportive environment that values trust and co-operation, will always lead to the best outcome. I will always work to foster a community where everyone feels heard, and all creatives feel a sense of belonging.
